GPU Reservations
GPU Reservations
Training Coordinators can secure guaranteed GPU resources for their courses through the GPU reservation feature. This grants courses top priority for requested GPU compute hardware, ensuring that all necessary hardware requirements are met to run training sessions and labs effectively.
The following steps outline how to create a GPU reservation for a course:
Navigate to the Desktops tab on the course page and select the blue "Reserve GPU" button located beneath the Video conference button.

A prompt will appear to collect the necessary details for your GPU request.
The first step is to define the location, which is set to "Anywhere" by default.

If you are aware of the city closest to the participants, you can enter it manually by selecting "Within distance from city".

For broader location coverage, you may opt to choose "Others...".

Once the location is set to your satisfaction, click "Continue" to proceed to the "Per desktop" section, where you can define specific machine requirements.
Specify all resources required per machine to help generate an accurate estimate of the approximate resource costs.
** Please ensure these details are accurate, as this leads to a more precise cost estimation and aids course managers in sourcing resources if availability is limited in a specific region.

If the entered details are correct, click Continue to proceed to the GPU requirements section.
In this section, it is advisable to discuss the exact needs with the trainer to determine the appropriate hardware. Trainers are typically well-informed about the specific GPU Vendor and Model required for their course. If you or the trainer are unsure, please select "ANY".

We currently support two Vendors: AMD and Nvidia.
Regarding models, our current catalogue is listed. If you are unsure of the trainer's specific needs, please leave this setting as "ANY".
Once you are satisfied with the reservation details, click "Place reservation". This will allocate the necessary funds, activate the reservation, and mark it as active on the course page, as shown below:

Should you receive new information regarding the GPUs required for the course, or if changes are necessary, please contact DD support for assistance with modifying the GPU reservation request.
