Can't type certain characters like apostrophes, quotation marks, and inverted commas on your DaDesktop machine

This annoying problem crops up rarely, but it depends on your physical keyboard, language layout, and internationalisation settings.

This is a Windows-only problem.

You can resolve it by following these steps:

  1. In the Windows search bar, enter 'Settings'.
  2. Click on 'Time & Language'.
  3. Click the language menu item on the left-hand side.
  4. Then, under 'Preferred Languages', select your preferred language and then click 'Options'.
  5. After that, click 'Add a keyboard' and choose your keyboard layout, such as the US layout.
  6. Remove the old keyboard layouts by clicking on them and then 'Remove'.
  7. Test by typing a single quote ('), a quotation mark ("), and an inverted quote mark (`).
