SSH Access

SSH AccessFor ease of use, it is often requested to have SSH access to DaDesktop machines, making it simpler for course participants and trainers to access their Desktop machines from their own laptop or desktop PC. It's understandable that typing commands in a local terminal is often preferred to using a terminal on a remote Desktop.

Although technically possible, we do not permit SSH access in this scenario, as it would unduly open up DaDesktop course machines to significant potential security issues.

A drag and drop file file transfer capability has been added to that files can be easily added from your own laptop or desktop to within the DaDesktop machine. Some requests for full SSH access were because there wasn't a way to transfer files before, but now that this feature is available, using DaDesktop is even easier.

It should be noted that full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available on Windows and Linux OS templates, so it's now much easier to copy and paste commands from your own local machine to the DaDesktop machine, even when using a Mac or non-English character sets.

For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access is permitted if required.
