Create From OS Template

To spin up a desktop from an OS template:

1. Head into the course and select the Desktops menu
2. Click "Create From OS Template"

The screen displays the various choices you get when setting up a desktop from an OS Template
 

Here's a breakdown of what each field does:

• GPU Model
  Pick the GPU and type, if needed. Checking the 'Display GPU enabled servers' box filters the list to only show servers with available GPUs
• Datacentre / Server
  Select the datacentre region and server that's nearest to you in Canada
• OS to clone from
  Operating System (OS) templates cover Windows and Linux distributions like Ubuntu, Debian, and Almalinux, among others
• Include custom, old, beta & rc Versions
  DaDesktop refreshes templates regularly, but if you run into any snags with the newest one, you can give an older version a go here
• CPU
  Choose how many CPU cores you need. Note that the standard is 8 cores, which typically handles most general Linux and Windows tasks without a hitch
• Memory
  Set the memory ceiling in GB for the desktop. Keep in mind you're bound by the server's resources, and each server can have different memory caps. If you need to bump these limits, reach out to us via Support Chat
• Disk Space 
  Define how much disk space to allocate. The standard is 50GB.
